Flowergirls are a lot of fun to photograph as they are usually in such awe of the spectacle going on around them.
Last Saturday I had the pleasure of two such flowergirls who were both great fun to work with.

I have a a collection of t-shirts I have that promote my business. I have just added another one that is a little more direct.
The text reads “I SHOOT BRIDES Have you chosen your wedding photographer yet?” and is available in a range of styles, sizes and colours for the wedding photographer in your life.
I have also created on that adds my website address to the bottom.

Saturday saw me and Shelton back together again for one of his amazing workshops, this time based on weddings.
I love assiting on these as not only do I get to help and teach others, but I always pickup a few things myself. I also take any opportunity to grab some photos myself. I like how I am not under any pressure and can grab some nice shots.
It’s always very gratifying to see the improvement from the start to the end of the day and the happy faces that thank the staff at the end of the day. Camera Action puts on a great workshop and everyone loves it.
We had Elise act as our bride and she played the part well (as you can see below).

Although quite uncomfortable with the title I have recently had the honour of being a “Guest Guru” at the photography tutorial website fiveminutephotographer.com.
“If your vision is to create beautiful, dynamic and inspiring images with your camera, the Five Minute Photographer makes it easy.
Our series of five minute photography tutorials will show you how dynamic images are made using simple techniques and equipment. In five minutes you will learn imaging techniques and principles that will change forever how you take pictures. Our forums will help you get online with photographers from all over the world. Read our informative articles on many aspects of photography. New photo tutorials and articles are being added regularly by renowned photographer, Shelton Muller.”
Last week I was contacted and was honoured to be asked to contribute a five minute tutorial video to the website. My video on “How to photograph your first wedding” was uploaded to the site last night and I look forward to hearing from the members.

Liz and Mike were the first couple to book me as a wedding photographer so their wedding had that extra special meaning for me. It was also my first wedding with an assistant and second shooter. As you will see below I think I chose wisely.

The formals were held before the ceremony giving us plenty of time to get some nice images.

And Tim’s photo of me achieving the photo above.

A superb angle by Tim of the bride and her father entering.

My next bride and groom were in attendance and I look forward to working with them soon.

It was a great day with a lot of very happy people. The fifteen hours of shooting time went by in a flash and Tim and myself were looked after very well.

We started off with a little under 3500 images. The bride and groom’s contract states “150 images on CD”. They will get 468. And this is how it is spread.

Folders marked ‘00′ - ‘10′ will appear on the CD of images the couple receive and the rest are there for my information as I work. Most of it is based upon keywords and ratings applied to each image.
