My name is Richard and ever since my son was born I have been captivated by the human face. Those fleeting moments that make who we are. Although I have enjoyed taking all types of photographs in the past, recently my passion lies with photographing people being themselves.
What I expect of my clients
In order for me to take photographs of you, I need you to be you.
In most cases I will ask you to ignore me as I walk around you looking for that moment. There will be moments when I will pose you and suggest something but ultimately I want you to be whomever you are. If you are a shy person, let that come through, it will make for the better portrait.
What my clients can expect of me
You can expect me to be both focused and relaxed. I will do my best to make you at ease and will work hard to capture images you will be proud to display. My sessions can run to three hours if you choose so I will not have one eye on my watch as I shoot.
If capturing the perfect moment or expression means throwing myself onto the ground and getting all dirty and messed up, I will do so without hesitation. Those whom I have ventured out on photowalks with have a saying for/about me …
“It’s not a real photowalk until someone has taken a photo of Richard on the ground taking a photo of something”.
Personally I’m quite proud of this.
